Cindy Shermeyer

Cindy Shermeyer is an experienced educator and leader in the field of literacy and language acquisition. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Literacy Delaware since December 2007, Cindy focuses on empowering adult learners to become productive and engaged community members. In addition to this role, Cindy has been a Best Plus Master Trainer with the Center for Applied Linguistics since 2002 and was previously the Lead Teacher for the ESL Program at Christina School District Adult Education from 1997 to December 2007. Cindy's earlier experience includes serving as the Coordinator of the Reading Improvement Program at the University of Delaware from 1997 to 2001. Cindy holds multiple degrees in Applied Linguistics, including a Master's Degree from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
