Government And External Relations Policy And Advocacy Counsel at Center for Reproductive Rights

Jacob Sims is a Policy and Advocacy Counsel at the Center for Reproductive Rights since April 2023, following a tenure as a Policy Advisor at the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Department of Homeland Security, from June 2016 to April 2023. Jacob's prior experience includes roles as a Policy Fellow at the National Center for Lesbian Rights and a Law Clerk at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, as well as at the Texas Civil Rights Project. Additional positions held include Policy Clerk with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Legal Intern at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Research Assistant at The George Washington University Law School, and a Law Clerk-Volunteer with Orleans Public Defenders. Jacob earned a JD from The George Washington University Law School (2011-2014) and a BA in History Honors from The University of Texas at Austin (2007-2011).
