Cyrus Muiga

Head, Reserves Management at Central Bank of Kenya

Cyrus Muiga has extensive work experience in the banking industry, primarily with the Central Bank of Kenya. Cyrus currently holds the position of Head of Reserves Management, a role they have been in since December 2020. Prior to this, they served as Head of Operational Risk Management at the Financial Markets Department of the Central Bank since October 2011. Before that, they held the same position at Risk Management starting in September 2011. Additionally, they served on the Technical Committee at BSS & CBK from July 2012 to October 2014. Muiga's career at the Central Bank of Kenya began in 2002, where they held various positions including Middle Office from September 2007 to October 2011, Forex Dealer from March 2004 to September 2007, and Reserves Management from June 2002 to March 2004.

Cyrus Muiga has a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Botswana. Cyrus also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained a Diploma in Advanced International Training Programme in Risk Management in Finance/Banking from KPMG/SIDA in August 2012. Furthermore, they have pursued a Risk Certificate Program (RCP) from GARP, although the specific details regarding the completion date are not provided.
