Cheryl Rudd, BSc, MPA , is the Director of Primary Care and Health Systems Strengthening at CIDRZ and has over 15 years' global health management and leadership experience—12 in Zambia. Her work focuses on sustainable health systems approaches to public health programming and rigorous evaluation to guide improvement and inform policy. Cheryl has led a broad range of health and research programmes in immunization, supply chain, WASH, infection prevention control and emergency response.
She currently provides technical assistance to Government for the immunisation programme at national and subnational levels, including policy and guideline development, implementation of national strategies, rollout of new vaccines and to develop new initiatives to improve performance. Cheryl and her team are supporting government in the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, providing technical assistance and implementation support at all levels across the country. She also led a national system re-design and modelling of the immunisation supply chain which informed recommended policy change, mobilised resources for implementation and is being implemented in all health facilities in Southern Province to learn lessons for national scale.
