Dan McMillan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an Environmental and Occupational Health Certificate, demonstrating a strong academic background in health and safety. As the Director of Health and Safety at Cermaq Canada since April 2019, Dan has achieved a remarkable OSSE (COR) Safety Audit score increase from 86% to 96% and maintained a record of two years without a lost time injury, a first in the company's history. Prior to this role, Dan served as the Senior Environmental Health and Safety Manager at WesternOne Rentals and Sales, successfully reducing the Worksafebc Experience Rating from a 94% surcharge to a 7% discount and implementing a Health and Safety Management System. Dan has also been involved in various health and safety roles at WesternOne and Sodexo, contributing significantly to external training revenue and system improvements throughout career progression.
