Jason Payton

Jason Payton has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. Jason currently holds the position of Director, Cybersecurity Risk Management at Churchill Downs Incorporated since February 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Information Security Officer / Risk Management Team Lead at Churchill Downs Incorporated from March 2020 to January 2023. Before joining Churchill Downs Incorporated, Jason worked at Passport Health Plan as the Information Security Officer / Manager from December 2012 to February 2020. Jason also worked at Seven Counties Services as the Information Security / HIPAA Security Officer from April 2010 to December 2012. Jason's earlier experience includes roles at L&N Federal Credit Union as an Information Security Analyst from August 2005 to April 2010, and as Network / System / Security Administration from March 2004 to November 2006. Jason also worked as an IT Asset Control Auditor (Contractor) at UPS Supply Chain Solutions from January 2004 to March 2004, and as a HIPAA EDI Analyst (Contractor) at Anthem from August 2003 to January 2004. Jason began their career as a Network Administrator (Contractor) at Tower International from January 2003 to June 2003.

Jason Payton holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and an Associate degree in Business from Indiana University Southeast. Jason also has additional certifications including ITIL v.4 from PeopleCert in 2022, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2014, and ITIL v.3 from APM Group in 2010.
