Matthew Johnston has an extensive background in law enforcement and emergency communications, serving as a Sergeant in the Emergency Communications Center for the City of Oak Ridge since March 2010. Responsibilities include leading specialized teams such as SWAT and crash reconstruction, managing fleet operations, and overseeing grants. Prior roles encompass various positions within the Patrol Division and Support Services Division, where Matthew held responsibilities as a motor officer and field training officer. Additionally, Matthew has served as the Network Coordinator for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office since August 2018. A veteran of the US Army, Matthew was a Military Police Officer from August 2003 to July 2008, taking on roles such as gunner and patrol supervisor.
