Charles Tilford

Charles Tilford is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and project management across various industries. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since June 2021, Tilford focuses on R&D for superconducting magnets in fusion reactors. Previous roles include Principal at Tilford Engineering, where significant projects included the design and construction of large cooling systems, and Sr. Equipment Engineer at Nanosolar, involved in the establishment of a large solar cell manufacturing facility. Additional experience spans various leadership and engineering positions at organizations such as Southwall Technologies, SunPower Corporation, and SunTek Research Associates, with significant achievements in solar technology development.
