Donnavan-John Linley

Donnavan-John Linley is a Senior Analyst at The Competition Commission South Africa, responsible for leading technical investigations in the Media and Digital Platforms Market Inquiry, with a focus on competition dynamics within news media and digital platforms. Previously undertook a sabbatical to travel through the Americas, during which Spanish was learned and a global network was established. As an Economist at the Competition Commission South Africa, Donnavan-John completed over 30 reports for Tribunal Hearings and engaged in detailed analysis of complex mergers and predation cases. Earlier experience includes work at Statistics South Africa, where GDP estimates were constructed, and a consultancy role at Econex focusing on competition and economic issues. Donnavan-John holds multiple degrees in Economics from Stellenbosch University, Maastricht University, and the University of Cape Town.
