Mark Lewis has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mark started their professional career as an HOD Outdoor Education at St. Patricks College, where they were responsible for junior and senior Outdoor Education and Education Outside the Classroom. Mark then worked as a Program Manager at the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council.

Mark also has extensive experience in the military, serving in the NZ Army in several roles such as Learning and Development Officer, Chief Instructor (acting), and Operations Manager. Mark demonstrated leadership skills and expertise in training and development during their time in the army.

In the healthcare sector, Mark held two roles at the Canterbury District Health Board. As the Head of Talent, Leadership, and Capability, they played a crucial role in repositioning the organization's HR function to a modern People and Capability function. Mark also worked as the Manager Wellbeing, Health, and Safety, where they focused on implementing health and safety strategies and developing a wellbeing strategy for the organization.

Most recently, Mark worked at Lane Neave as the People and Capability Manager, leading the people and capability function. Mark was responsible for building a positive work culture, talent acquisition and management, designing and implementing a behavioral and leadership capability framework, and workforce planning.

Currently, Mark is the Head of People and Culture at Connetics, where they oversee the people and culture function within the company.

Mark Lewis attended the University of Canterbury from 1997 to 2001, where they achieved a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with a focus on Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. Additionally, in 2020, they obtained a certification in Matrigma, a general cognitive ability assessment, from Assessio.
