Shani Carter McKinney has a diverse work experience with various roles in different organizations.
Starting in 2015, McKinney worked as an Intern at the Raleigh Urban Design Center and later as a Planning Intern at the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority. In the same year, McKinney also served as a Career Services Student Liaison and Diversity Committee Assistant at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
In 2017, McKinney joined the Coro New York Leadership Center as part of Leadership New York (LNY) 29.
In 2019, McKinney worked as a Director at HR&A Advisors, where they also held positions as Senior Analyst, Independent Consultant, and Fellow between 2015 and 2019.
In 2020, McKinney had a range of roles. They founded RESET Third Space and served as a Founder. Additionally, McKinney worked as a Venture Fellow at Share Ventures and a Fellow at January Ventures.
In 2021, McKinney worked as an Advisor to the Chief of Schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District at Harvard Business School.
Currently, McKinney's most recent position is as a Strategy Officer at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, starting in December 2022.
Shani Carter McKinney holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Harvard Business School. Shani also obtained a Master's degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, specializing in Real Estate and Urban Development.
