Hsiao-Hua Liu

Hsiao-hua Liu is an accomplished optical engineer with extensive experience in laser development and engineering. Currently serving as Principal Optical Engineer at Cutera, Inc. since June 2010, Hsiao-hua has led the development of the second generation picosecond system and contributed significantly to the first generation "enlighten" system. Previous roles include Manager of Advanced Laser Systems and Senior Laser Scientist at Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories, where Hsiao-hua secured substantial government funding for solid-state-laser projects and advanced multi-watt laser systems. Earlier experience at the University of Michigan's Center for Ultrafast Optical Science involved innovative research in noninvasive laser applications and precision material modification. Hsiao-hua holds a PhD and both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and National Taiwan University, respectively.
