Scott Peterson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Scott is currently the Director of Learning & Leadership at the CVNL Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant, where they designed innovative program components and supported coaching for various organizations focused on civic engagement, leadership training, and advocacy. Scott also served as Director at Kearns & West, where they analyzed community input and contributed to workshop design for policy development and regional public meetings. At Leadership for Educational Equity, Scott was the Senior Director, providing training and development to staff and advising on the development of national programs. Scott also worked as a Leadership Development Advisor for an educational equity organization as an Independent Consultant. Before that, Scott held positions such as Deputy Director at the East Bay Economic Development Alliance, Public Policy Director at the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and Fellows Program Director at the Coro Center for Civic Leadership. Scott began their career as an Academic Director at the School for International Training and as a Community Development Specialist at the Agency for Technical Cooperation.

Scott Peterson completed their BA in Anthropology & Politics from St. Lawrence University in 1988. Scott then pursued an MSc in Rural & Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, which they completed between 1991 and 1993.
