Tessa Piñon

Tessa Piñon, Ph.D., is an experienced interdisciplinary engineer currently serving as an Engineering Manager in the Counter-WMD Advanced Research Division at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency since July 2021. Prior roles include Program Analyst at ICESS, where Tessa provided scientific expertise and program management for nuclear technologies, and Senior Scientist at SAIC, supporting the Department of Homeland Security in nuclear radiation detection systems. Tessa's academic background includes a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Merced, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from St. Mary's University, along with a Certificate in Data Analytics from The George Washington University. Tessa has significant experience in postdoctoral research, teaching, and internships focused on advanced biomedical applications and CBRN threat research.
