Chris Howes possesses extensive experience in digital, information, and infrastructure management within the public sector. Currently serving as the Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since March 2016, Chris also holds the position of Deputy Chief Technology Officer at the same department. Prior to these roles, Chris was the Director of Group Infrastructure and Operations at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since November 2017, and has been the Director of Corporate Information Services at the Environment Agency since June 2007. Chris began the professional journey as a Management Systems Assessor at Lloyd's Register from April 1994 to October 1999. Chris holds an MBA from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Environmental Pollution Science from Brunel University London.
