Hannah Reid

Lead Analyst, Biodiversity Challenge Funds at DEFRA

Hannah Reid has extensive work experience in various roles related to environmental and climate change research and advocacy. Hannah currently holds the position of Lead Analyst, Biodiversity Challenge Funds at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Prior to this, they served as Head of Floods Research at the same department. Hannah has also worked as an Advisor/member for the UNFCCC Expert Group on Biodiversity and Climate Change Adaptation and as a Scientific Advisory Board member for Earthly. In addition, Hannah has worked as a freelance Consultant since 2011, undertaking research and project management roles. Hannah has also held positions at the International Institute for Environment and Development, including Senior Researcher and Programme and Research Coordinator. Hannah'sfreelance work prior to 2002 involved research and community-based natural resource management issues.

Hannah Reid completed their BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford from 1993 to 1996. Later, they pursued a PhD in Biodiversity Management from the University of Kent, Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) from 1998 to 2002.
