João Pires da Silva

João Pires da Silva has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. João began their career in 1986 as an Assistente-Estagiário at Instituto Superior Técnico. In 1989, they joined Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa as an Assistente, and later became a Professor Auxiliar from 1993 to 2019. In 2005, João worked as a Technologist at COTEC Portugal for a few months. João then co-founded Adsorfoam - Espumas Adsorventes S.A. in 2007, where they served until 2012. In 2017, João worked as a Technologist at Building Global Innovators for a year. In 2018, they co-founded Delox and currently holds a position there. Additionally, in 2023, João will become a Full Professor at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.

João Pires da Silva completed their PhD in Chemistry with a focus on Physical-Chemistry and Adsorption from the University of Lisbon in 1993. Prior to that, they also pursued a Habilitation degree in Chemistry from the University of Lisbon, which they successfully completed in 2007.
