Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith has a diverse work experience in various IT roles. Shawn started their career in 2009 as a 94F - Computer/Detection Systems Repairer in the United States Army, where they gained extensive skills in troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment and setting up computer networks.

In 2016, Shawn joined Backyard Farms as an IT Technician, supporting over 70 users in a Windows domain environment. Shawn handled network infrastructure, servers, and end-user devices while managing Active Directory and Exchange email systems.

Following the acquisition of Backyard Farms by Mastronardi Produce Ltd., Shawn transitioned to the parent company as an IT Helpdesk Support Specialist. Shawn expanded their technical skills in networking and maintained farm technologies across facilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In 2018, Shawn joined nVisium as a Systems Administrator, where they managed the corporation's Mac OS environment and oversaw on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure. Shawn also provided end-user support for the nVisium On Demand Training Platform.

Within a year, Shawn was promoted to DevOps Engineer at nVisium, where they automated workflows, established testing procedures, and set up CI/CD infrastructure for the On Demand Training Platform.

Currently, Shawn is working at DemandJump as a Senior DevOps Engineer, leveraging their skills to contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-based applications.

Shawn Smith began their education at Tri-County Technical Center from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained CompTIA A+ Certification and CompTIA Network+ Certification in the field of Information Technology. In 2009, they attended Military Advanced Individual Training, specializing in Special Electronic Systems Repair, Information Technology, and Networking, earning a 94F - MOS Proficiency degree. Subsequently, Shawn pursued further education at Allied American University from 2010 to 2011, studying Computer Information Systems. Prior to their vocational and higher education, Shawn completed their secondary education at Nokomis Regional High School from 2004 to 2008, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. Additionally, Shawn has obtained several certifications, including Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2019, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA A+ from CompTIA in May 2008 and June 2007 respectively, and Secret Security Clearance from the United States Department of Defense in January 2010.
