Research Scientist Team Leader Plant Physiology at Department of Environment and Primary Industries

Dario Stefanelli is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in plant physiology and horticultural science. Currently serving as Senior Research Scientist and Lead of the "Fruit & Perennial Crops" Program at the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD) since July 2020, Dario has a strong focus on fruit and produce quality, maturity, and post-harvest stresses. Previous roles include positions at the Department of Environment and Primary Industries and Agriculture Victoria, where Dario led teams in organic chemistry and pre/postharvest fruit physiology, respectively. As Co-CEO of Digital Processing Solutions, Dario specialized in developing root analyzing software. Dario’s academic credentials include a PhD in Horticultural Science from Michigan State University and a Graduate Certificate of Management from the Australian Institute of Management.
