Erik Voelker

Erik Voelker has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Erik started their career as a Summer Research Intern at Kaiser Permanente in 2016, where they focused on increasing the number of unique Safety Conversations among employees and documented important safety-related discussions. In 2017, Erik worked as a Print and Marketing Associate at Staples, assisting customers with custom copy, print, and stationery orders while providing efficient customer service.

Erik then joined Azusa Pacific University where they held multiple roles. As a Barista at Hillside Grounds, they crafted and served a wide range of beverages, ensuring food and beverage safety. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, Erik conducted novel biological research to study the properties of a protein related to the tropical disease schistosomiasis. Additionally, they worked as a Circulation Assistant at the Marshburn Library, facilitating patron checkouts and maintaining the cleanliness of the library, and as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, providing instruction and engaging activities to biology students.

In 2020, Erik worked as a Laboratory Technician at E. & J. Gallo Winery, conducting chemical analysis on wine and grape products and following standard operating procedures to expedite samples for clients. Erik then joined Roche in 2021 as a Scientist I in Assay Development, where they developed a digital PCR (dPCR) platform and optimized oligo and input concentrations for reagents and plates. Erik also conducted simulations to develop assay reagents and consumables.

In 2022, Erik worked as a Research Technician at Cue Health, and in 2023, they joined DNA Electronics (DNAe) as a Senior Research Associate, focusing on Library Prep. Overall, Erik Voelker has experience in research, laboratory work, customer service, and project management across various organizations and industries.

Erik Voelker completed their high school education at John C. Kimball High School from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Erik then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at Azusa Pacific University from 2016 to 2020, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science - BS in Biochemistry.
