Chad Wetzel, MPH, serves as an Epidemiologist at the Douglas County Health Department since August 2012, focusing on investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities for communicable diseases. Responsibilities include recommending evidence-based public health interventions, managing disease surveillance systems, developing disease control protocols, and providing analyses of epidemiological data using statistical software. Prior to this role, Chad Wetzel completed a graduate internship that involved public health data utilization and outbreak response, and served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where research focused on pollution prevention and environmental health. Chad Wetzel earned a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Psychology from Creighton University.
