Ian Kinnaird

Ian Kinnaird is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Scottish Assets & Generation Engineering Director and Head of Hydro at Drax Group since January 2019. Prior to this role, Ian accumulated extensive experience at ScottishPower from September 2002 to June 2021, where titles included Head of UK Hydro and UK Hydro Performance & Development Manager, among others. Ian has a strong background in mechanical engineering, having held various positions such as Mechanical Maintenance Manager and Turbine Process Manager, which involved leading diverse engineering teams and managing complex maintenance projects. Ian began their career as a Rotating Equipment Engineer at ScottishPower and Ingenco after earning a B.Eng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland in 1996.
