April Lee

April Lee is currently a Falcon Engineering Intern at SpaceX, having begun this role in August 2024. In addition to this position, April serves as a Powertrain Engineer for Duke University Motorsports since January 2023 and previously worked as an Engineering Intern at Rivian from May to August 2024, where responsibilities included mechanical design and electrical hardware. Experience at the University of Washington involved research roles focused on rotating detonation engines and RAM accelerators during the summer of 2023. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Duke University Pratt School of Engineering, April contributed to innovative research on gene therapies for cardiac arrhythmias from September 2022 to May 2023. Early career experiences include working as a barista at Starbucks and as a horseback riding instructor at Gold Creek Equestrian Center, where teaching and safety were prioritized. April is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University, with an expected graduation date in May 2026.
