Vanessa Rosa, Ph.D. (She/Her)

Vanessa Rosa, Ph.D., is a chemist dedicated to connecting scientific research with societal impact and an accomplished educator and researcher dedicated to advancing equity and innovation in science education.

As the Founder and Director of Broader Impacts Initiatives at Cuvette Collective since January 2022, she assists researchers and research center directors in translating scientific advancements into meaningful real-world applications. Additionally, as Director of Innovation, Outreach, Diversity, and Education (DIODE) at Duke University, Vanessa oversees outreach for the Center for the Chemistry of Molecularly Optimized Networks (MONET), funded by the National Science Foundation.

Prior experience includes positions at the University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on STEM education reforms and research assessing the impact of educational changes. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Florida and a rich history of teaching and research, including significant contributions in both academic and applied settings, Vanessa Rosa exemplifies leadership in fostering inclusive and impactful science education.

Her innovative approach extends to Cuvette Empowered, a nonprofit organization that supports under-resourced researchers, and "for CURIOUS Brains," a YouTube channel that makes scientific research accessible to lifelong learners.

Dr. Rosa is committed to advancing science education reform by broadening participation and implementing transformative research communication strategies.
