Yvonne O’Toole

Yvonne joined the Institute of Education as Principal in 2018 and has overseen the strategic development and growth of the school over the last five years. During her early career, Yvonne taught English and Classics but it is as an Irish language teacher that she is best known for having published 37 market-leading Irish language textbooks over the last 25 years. During her teaching career, Yvonne worked as a Leaving Certificate examiner and oral examiner for the State Examinations Commission. She also lectured and mentored graduates on the Trinity College teacher training Master's Programme.

Yvonne graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Irish and English and she continued her passion for learning with Religious Studies and Journalism qualifications. She was awarded a first-class honors Master of Science degree in Educational Management and Leadership from Dublin City University in 2004. Yvonne believes that a passion for lifelong learning and education is the greatest gift that we can bestow on students.
