Kyla Johnson-Trammell

Kyla Johnson-Trammell has over two decades of experience in educational leadership, primarily within the Oakland Unified School District. As Superintendent since January 2012, Kyla has shaped the vision for the Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction Department, and has held various roles including Interim Deputy Superintendent and Network Superintendent of Elementary Schools. Previous positions include Elementary Principal, where Kyla served as an instructional leader, and Assistant Principal at Oak Grove Middle School, focusing on attendance management and interventions for at-risk students. Additionally, Kyla has contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at UC Berkeley. Kyla holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
