Chris Staynes

Chris Staynes is an accomplished leader with a diverse portfolio of governance and management roles. Currently serving as Chairman of the Grow Dunedin Partnership since 2010 and as a Director for multiple organizations including the Otago Museum, Cancer Society Otago Southland, and Wine Freedom, Chris has a strong commitment to community development and sustainability. As Chairman of Cargill Enterprises, significant turnaround in financial performance has been achieved during Chris's tenure. Additionally, Chris has been an Elected Member of the Dunedin City Council since 2007, holding the position of Deputy Mayor from 2010 to 2019 and chairing the Economic Development Standing Committee. Previous experience includes a long-standing role as a Director and President of the Otago Chamber of Commerce and a successful career as General Manager at Fisher & Paykel Appliances. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Otago.
