Bryan Barash has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being Vice President, External Affairs and Deputy General Counsel at Dutchie since May 2023. Before that, they were Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel at Dutchie from August 2021 to May 2023. Bryan also served as Secretary at the US Cannabis Council starting from March 2023.
Prior to their current roles, Bryan worked as General Counsel for Senate President Harriette Chandler from December 2014 to August 2021. During this time, they proposed and drafted legislative initiatives, managed the legislative agenda, and negotiated high-profile initiatives such as the "Grand Bargain." Bryan also made recommendations on leadership positions and committee assignments.
Bryan's other past experiences include serving as a Commissioner for the Newton Charter Commission from November 2015 to January 2018, where they reviewed and rewrote the city charter and proposed a more efficient model for city government. Bryan was the Policy Director for Warren Tolman for Attorney General from March 2014 to September 2014, and also worked as an Attorney at the Ross Law Firm from October 2013 to February 2014.
Furthermore, Bryan has interned as a Legal Intern at the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission in June 2012 and worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Dan Lyons at Boston College Law School in June 2011. Bryan also founded and owned bb web consulting, llc from 2008 to 2011.
Bryan Barash completed their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Boston College Law School from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Management/Marketing from Stony Brook University from 2003 to 2006. In addition to their education, they received a Public Service Award from the Massachusetts Association of Regional Transit Authorities Inc in 2019 and is also admitted to the Bar in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 2013.
