Special Advisor To The Ecowas Commission at ECOWAS Commission

Fatima Kyari Mohammed serves as the African Union Permanent Observer to the United Nations in New York since February 2018, focusing on fostering institutional relationships between the African Union and the United Nations. Concurrently, since July 2014, Fatima functions as a Special Advisor to the ECOWAS Commission, advancing organizational development and strategic planning. Additionally, Fatima is the Founder and Coordinator of the LikeMinds Project, a non-profit dedicated to promoting a peaceful and equitable society, particularly for vulnerable communities. Previous roles include Senior Expert and Executive Director at WACAS Consulting, Programme Manager at the EU Delegation to the European Commission, and Regional Project Manager for Security Policy Projects at Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, demonstrating extensive experience in conflict, security, and development. Fatima's educational background includes an MBA in Communication & Public Relations and a Bachelor's degree from Ahmadu Bello University.
