Gary Fisher

Systems Engineer - Senior Data Center Architect at EDCi

Gary Fisher has a wealth of experience in the field of systems engineering and management. Gary began their career at Tandy Corporation in 1982, where they worked as a Regional Field Manager, overseeing the repair and maintenance of client systems and processors. During their time at Tandy Corporation, they gained expertise in component-level repair and printer maintenance. In 1988, Fisher joined Synaptic Corporation as a Systems Support Manager, where they managed installation and support services for corporate publication software on novel network systems. Gary was responsible for networking connectivity and the installation of full projects. In 1990, they moved to EDCi and created the field service/project installation department. As a Field Service Manager, Fisher installed wide area networks and developed expertise in Motorola Codex digital service equipment and X. 25 networking. In 1998, Fisher transitioned into the role of Systems Engineer - Senior Data Center Architect at EDCi. In this role, they focused on large network designs using Cisco and IBM equipment, as well as x86 compute expertise and data center design services. Gary specialized in virtualization, particularly VMware services.

Gary Fisher earned an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology with an emphasis on Microprocessor Science from North Central Technical College between 1980 and 1982. Prior to that, they attended the University of Wisconsin - Rhinelander Extension from 1979 to 1980, studying Physics and Math. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications including Cisco Collaboration Architect Engineer in 2012, IBM Certified Power Architect in 2011, Cisco Enterprise Network Architect in 2004, Cisco Certified Design Professional, Cisco Certified Network Professional, and Cisco Core and WAN Systems Engineer in 2001, as well as IBM Certified Storage Architect and IBM Certified x86 Architect in 2001.
