Tienie van Rooyen

Tienie van Rooyen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in architecture and sustainable building practices. Currently serving as an EDGE Expert at EDGE Buildings since October 2021, Tienie provides technical support for green building design and EDGE certification across various sectors in South Africa. As a Senior Partner at MEG Architects since November 2010, Tienie has overseen numerous projects in diverse categories of the built environment, alongside general office management responsibilities. As the Founder and Director of Heartwood Sustainable Industries since September 2016, Tienie is dedicated to innovative sustainable solutions. Additionally, Tienie is an Associate Member of Fresh Design International since January 2014. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Architectural Technologist at QTS Architects and an Architectural Technologist at PS Architects. Tienie holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pretoria, obtained in 2009, complemented by participation in a PPE Workshop in 2011.
