Alex Wagner

Alex Wagner, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Global Product Stewardship at Edwards Lifesciences, a position held since 2019, following roles as Senior Principal Scientist, Principal Scientist, and Staff Scientist within the same organization. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral research fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute, where research centered on chiral amino acid synthesis and reaction mechanisms, and a lecturer position at UC Irvine, where organic chemistry courses were taught and new course content on organometallic reactions was developed. Alex Wagner's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Irvine and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota, complemented by extensive research experience in organic chemistry across various internships and roles. Notable achievements include the development and commercialization of the Competing Enantioselective Conversion method and the homobenzotetramisole organocatalyst.
