Barb Lofrisco

Barb LoFrisco, Ph.D., serves as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Certified Sex Therapist at CounselorBarb since April 2008, specializing in individual therapy to assist clients in overcoming negative thought patterns and behaviors. In addition, Barb has been a Professional Speaker for Empathia, Inc./LifeMatters since September 2015, delivering mental health training to employees at CAE in Tampa. Previous experience includes writing as a Blogger for Best Online Universities LLC, focusing on counseling practices for graduate students and new counselors, and holding multiple teaching roles at the University of South Florida from 2010 to 2016, where responsibilities included instructing graduate courses and advising students. Barb earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of South Florida and completed a 120-hour program in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists.
