Thomas Harper

Thomas Harper has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Thomas is currently working as a Scientist III at ENSCO, Inc. since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Geophysicist at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) from August 2019 to February 2021. In this role, they collected and analyzed active source seismic data, developed new geophysical techniques, and wrote reports detailing project accomplishments.

Before joining ERDC, Thomas worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boise State University from June 2016 to October 2018. Here, they conducted thesis research on the crustal structure of southern Idaho using passive and active source seismology. Thomas also gathered and processed active source seismic data for various purposes including studying fluid pathways and locating faults and voids.

Additionally, Thomas gained experience as a Research Intern at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in 2015, where they used seismic wave traveltime delays to study the eastern North American continent. Thomas also assisted in assembling and disassembling seismometers in Maine.

Furthermore, Thomas has relevant engineering experience as a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern at Ansaldo STS, a Hitachi Group Company, from May 2013 to August 2014.
