John Hunter

Conservation Biologist at Environmental Science Associates

John Hunter has a diverse work experience in the environmental science field. John began their career as an Associate Professor at The College at Brockport State University Of New York from 1996 to 2001. John then worked as a Senior Ecologist at Jones & Stokes from 2001 to 2004. From 2005 to 2009, they held the role of Associate/Senior Associate at EDAW. John joined AECOM in 2010 as an Associate Principal, where their responsibilities included managing environmental review, conservation and restoration planning, and other projects. John also had duties in marketing, quality assurance, supervision, recruiting, and technical leadership. In 2013, they transitioned to H. T. Harvey & Associates, serving as an Associate/Senior Associate Plant Ecologist until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Senior Permitting Specialist at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff. Currently, they are employed as a Conservation Biologist at Environmental Science Associates since 2020.

John Hunter obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1981 to 1985. John then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Ecological and Systematic Biology at San Francisco State University from 1987 to 1989. Subsequently, they completed their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Biology from the University of California, Davis from 1989 to 1995.
