Jed Winokur began their career in 2001 as an Editorial Assistant at Jane Magazine for Fairchild Publications. In 2002, they became a Media Analyst at LexisNexis PR Solutions, where they were responsible for the maintenance of a database of journalist contacts and was the editor of Hot Media News, a bi-weekly email newsletter sent to over 16,000 journalists and PR contacts. In 2006, they interned at the Woody Guthrie Archives, where they developed an exhibits database to track past, present, and future Woody Guthrie exhibitions. Jed also interned at The Newark Museum and the Guggenheim Museum, where they processed approximately 10 cubic feet of the Guggenheim Museum's Exhibition Files and created a processing plan and initiated a finding aid in EAD. From 2007 to 2009, Jed was the Project Manager and Archivist for the American Academy in Rome Archives in New York. Jed was responsible for processing records, managing the archive, providing reference services, and overseeing staff compliance with instituted record retention schedules. Jed also worked as a Project Archivist for the Trinity School Archives and the Apollo Theatre Archives. In 2009, Jed became the Archive Director at Coach, where they led the implementation, maintenance, and development of the Coach Archive and managed the Archive team. In 2020, Jed took on the role of Head of Retail + Archive Services at Enwoven, where they are responsible for growth strategy across the retail vertical and oversight of Archival initiatives for clients.
Jed Winokur received their Masters in Library and Information Science with Archives Certification from Pratt Institute in 2007. Before that, they earned a BA in English and Philosophy from Muhlenberg College in 2000.
