Sherri Onyiego M.D.

Sherri Onyiego MD, PhD, FAAFP is a seasoned medical professional currently serving as the Senior Market Medical Director at Equality Health since October 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Division Director and Local Health Authority for Harris County Public Health from October 2017 to April 2021, where Sherri also served as the Interim Local Health Authority. Between January 2013 and October 2017, Sherri held the position of Medical Director at San José Clinic while also working as an HIV Physician at Harris Health System and as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine from September 2009 to October 2017. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Pharmacology from Meharry Medical College, an MD from Ross University School of Medicine, a Family Medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a Fellowship in HIV Medicine from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Sherri holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
