Gerard Chaput

Gerard Chaput is a seasoned medical professional specializing in trauma psychology and ethical oversight, currently serving as Médecin Référent de la Fondation Maison de la Gendarmerie since September 2019. As Président-Fondateur of the Association "Sentinelles de la Nation" since July 2017, Gerard Chaput focuses on supporting families of deceased or injured security personnel. Additionally, Gerard holds roles as Référent éthique et déontologie and health advisor at ERYS Group, along with being a Médecin référent for the Association Ad Augusta, addressing the needs of individuals affected by service-related trauma. Gerard's extensive experience includes contributions to the military and civil sectors as a trauma psychologist since 1977, presidency of the Fédération de Francombat, and retirement as a military doctor under the Ministry of Defense. Educational achievements include degrees in medicine from the Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier, with a focus on stress and trauma, cognitive and behavioral therapy, and various qualifications across multiple institutions.
