Mahmoud Aref has a diverse work experience starting from 2007. Mahmoud worked as a Procurement Officer at the Aircraft Accessories and Components Company, where they managed procurement operations for F15 and C130 supplies, focused on reducing turnaround time, lead time, and costs. From 2010 to 2012, they served as an Assistant Procurement Operations Manager at Unilever. At Mars, they worked as a Packaging Buying Operations Specialist, where they developed buying strategies, implemented supplier performance scorecards, and supported the rollout of SAP. Mahmoud then worked as a Procurement Manager at SIPCO, where they managed a team and oversaw capital buying. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the Corporate Procurement Manager at IKEA Saudi Arabia, establishing the procurement function from scratch. Mahmoud was also a Co-Founder at Instant Solution, Ltd. Co. From 2018 to 2021, they worked at Ericsson as a Regional Sourcing Business Partner, leading sourcing engagements for global accounts. Currently, Mahmoud is working at the Government Expenditure & Projects Efficiency Authority, initially as a Horizontal Category Manager, then as the Senior Director, Head of Fleet & Fuel Category, and currently as the Head of Procurement and Contracts.
Mahmoud Aref attended the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport from 2002 to 2006. Mahmoud obtained a bachelor's degree in Management of Logistics and International Trade Economics during this period.
