Michael Gavalas

Michael Gavalas is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Principal of Howitt Middle School in the Farmingdale Union Free School District since July 2020. Gavalas also works as a Personal Development Coach with Next Best U, focusing on empowerment and self-development since June 2019. Previously, Gavalas held the position of Assistant Principal at Calhoun High School within the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District from July 2017 to June 2020 and served as Assistant Principal and History Teacher at Hauppauge High School from July 2000 to June 2017. Gavalas began a career in education as a History Teacher at Grover Cleveland High School from February 1998 to June 2000. Gavalas holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, along with a Master of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching, both from Queens College.
