Abdel El Abbassi has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Abdel started their career in 2001 at City Bird Airlines as an Assistant Crewing Manager. Abdel then moved on to the Belgian Ministry of Social Affairs in 2002, where they worked as an Assistant Training Manager in the Training Unit for the entire year. In 2003, Abdel joined Fedasil and held multiple roles within different units. Abdel started as an Assistant Training Manager in the Training Unit, then transitioned to the Planning, Projections and Analyse Unit, where they worked as a Data Analyst and eventually became the Head of Planning, Projections, and Analyse Unit. Later on, they moved to the Reception Policy Development Unit, where they served as a Policy Officer. Finally, they joined the Policy & Research Unit as a Policy Officer in 2014, and they continue to work in this position.
Abdel El Abbassi's education history begins in 1992 when they attended Institut Sainte-Ursule in Laeken, where they completed their Secondaire Supérieur, Général. Following this, from 1994 to 1999, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Université libre de Bruxelles, earning a Master's degree in Political Sciences with a focus on International Relations. In 1997 and 1998, they also attended Sciences Po Aix in Aix-en-Provence, where they obtained a Certificate of Political Sciences (CEP, IEP Aix-en-Provence). Continuing their academic journey, Abdel El Abbassi returned to Université libre de Bruxelles in 2014 and 2015 to acquire a Certificate in Migration, Cultural Diversity, and Integration, specializing in Migration Studies.
