Michael Baier started their work experience as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University, where they assisted with teaching and grading assignments in courses related to Dynamic Systems and Fluid Mechanics. Michael then completed internships at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division in 2018 and 2019, where they conducted research and contributed to the design of test stands for hypergolic fuels. Michael also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University from 2015 to 2021, focusing on the characterization and combustion behavior of amine borane based solid fuels for hybrid rocket systems. Currently, they are employed as a Rocket Propulsion Scientist and Research Coordinator at Firehawk Aerospace.
Michael Baier completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Oklahoma State University from 2011 to 2015. Michael then pursued a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University from 2015 to 2017. Finally, Michael completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University from 2017 to 2021.
