Shannon Burgess

Shannon Burgess, M.S., serves as a Policy Analyst for the Florida House of Representatives since January 2023. With extensive experience in education, Shannon has held various roles including Policy Analyst at the Florida State College at Jacksonville since January 2010, where responsibilities include customizing curriculum and enhancing student retention through innovative instructional techniques. Prior roles encompass Education Program Specialist at the Florida Department of Education, facilitating statewide educational leadership policies, and teacher/advisor at Connections Academy, focusing on academic advising and curriculum development. Shannon's teaching experience began as a Language Arts Teacher for the St. Johns County School Board, where curriculum design led to a perfect pass rate for eighth graders on state assessments. Education credentials include a Master of Education in English Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Florida A&M University and Florida State University, respectively.
