Michael Stahnke

Vice President of Engineering at Flox

Michael Stahnke has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at flox, beginning in April 2023. Prior to this, they served as an Advisor at Uplevel, starting in January 2023.

From April 2019 to December 2022, Michael worked at CircleCI as the VP of Engineering. In this role, they had various responsibilities, including running engineering organizations, driving headcount growth, and building out teams covering infrastructure and backend systems.

Before joining CircleCI, Michael held multiple roles at Puppet. Michael served as the Sr Director of Engineering for Puppet Enterprise from August 2018 to April 2019. Additionally, they were the Director of Engineering and Community Manager at Puppet, contributing to the development and scaling of the Site Reliability Organization. Michael also served as a Release Manager, overseeing the build process and tooling for Puppet's software delivery.

Michael's earlier experience includes working as an Information Technology Specialist at Caterpillar Inc. in 2010, an IT Analyst at Caterpillar Financial from 2007 to 2010, and an IT Analyst at Caterpillar Inc. from 2002 to 2007.

Michael Stahnke received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Ball State University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the (ISC)2 Security CISSP certification from (ISC)² in June 2005.
