Senior Director Of Advanced Analytics And Data Science at Fraser Health Authority

Casper Shyr, PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Casper started their career as a Laboratory Technician at BC Cancer Agency in 2007, followed by positions as a Software Developer and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia. In 2010, they became a Research Scientist at BC Cancer Agency. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Website Administrator at Genome British Columbia and as a Consultant at Canadian Gene Cure Foundation. In 2013, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. In 2011, they worked as a Senior Data Specialist at BC Children's Hospital, Vancouver. In the same year, they also took on the role of a Webmaster at The University of British Columbia, which lasted until 2016. In 2016, Casper joined Fraser Health Authority, where they held positions such as Data Analyst, Evaluation Specialist, Evaluation Lead, Data Science Manager, Director of Consulting and Analytics, and currently serves as the Senior Director of Advanced Analytics and Data Science. Additionally, they are an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria since 2021.

Casper Shyr, PhD completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Biology at The University of British Columbia from 2005 to 2009. They then pursued a PhD in Bioinformatics at the same institution from 2010 to 2015. In addition to their degrees, they also obtained certifications including Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems from COACH Canada's Health Informatics Association and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in February 2016, and CCAC Certification from the Canadian Council on Animal Care in 2005.
