Ahmed Zidan is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in digital journalism, social media management, and audience engagement. Currently serving as Deputy Director, Audience at the Freedom of the Press Foundation since June 2023, Zidan previously held key roles at the Committee to Protect Journalists, including Deputy Director of Digital and Social Media and Digital Manager, where a comprehensive digital strategy was implemented. Zidan's career includes significant contributions to various media platforms, including serving as Social Media Editor for RNW and managing social media for Huna Sotak, in addition to freelance work covering Middle Eastern topics. Zidan co-founded Ahwaa.org, edited for ArabNet, and led Mideast Youth projects. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Cairo University, supplemented by training at the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.
