Lee Penney began their career in 1999 as an IT Support for the UK Ministry of Defence, where they provided second-line hardware and software support for a restricted access IT system connecting offices across the country. Lee also headed up the web team, responsible for maintaining the external website, developing standards for internal sites and administering an IIS web server. In 2003, they moved on to become a Document Controller for Aker Kvaerner. In 2006, they joined smartFOCUS as a Customer Support/Customer Services Team Leader, where they worked as part of the digital team and helped customers use the company-developed platform. In 2009, they became an IT Manager for SES Autoparts. In 2013, they returned to Fresh Relevance as the Head of Client Services. In 2022, they moved to Newicon as a Software Developer, where they worked on a project to deliver an in-house web app for an equipment leasing company. This involved converting Figma designs into working code based via an in-house framework built on top of Yii2. In 2023, they returned to Fresh Relevance as a Frontend Developer.
Lee Penney attended Solent University from 1996 to 1999, where they received a 2.1 degree in Film Studies.
