Peter Truong, PhD has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. Peter recently joined the Charlie Teo Foundation as the Head of Research in June 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research starting from the same month. Peter has also been involved with UNSW since 2018, where they held roles such as Visiting Research Fellow, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Higher Degree Research - Casual Tutor, and Doctoral Researcher. During their time at UNSW, Peter also served as a Medicine On-call Laboratory Attendant and a Faculty of Medicine Postgraduate Peer Mentor. Before their time at UNSW, they worked as a Weight Room Operations staff at UBC Recreation from 2014 to 2018. Additionally, Peter has gained research experience at Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie (IRIC) as a Next Generation Award Summer Research Student in Dr. Guy Sauvageau's Laboratory in 2017. Peter also worked at Sanofi Pasteur as an Analytical Research & Development Immunology Platform Researcher in 2016. Prior to their research roles, Peter worked in Human Resources and Store Operations at Target from 2013 to 2014.
Peter Truong, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medicine, which they obtained from UNSW from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2018, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and Immunology at The University of British Columbia. In addition to their formal education, Peter Truong also possesses several additional certifications. These include a certification in Good Clinical Practice - Australia, which they obtained in June 2023 from the Western Australia Health Translation Network. Peter also holds certifications in Lab Safety and WHMIS, which were obtained from The University of British Columbia in March 2017. Furthermore, Peter Truong has an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Marketing, which they earned from edX in January 2017.
