Bret Bissey

Bret Bissey is Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Gateway Health where he is responsible for the Medicare and Medicaid Compliance programs including federal and state regulatory matters. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Health Care Compliance Association (Certified – CHC).

Mr. Bissey previously served as Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where he was credited with successfully reengineering the nation’s largest sector compliance and ethics program under a rigorous Corporate Integrity Agreement with DHHS/OIG.

He is the author of the Compliance Officer’s Handbook, published in 2006, and has presented at more than 100 regional and national industry conferences/meetings on numerous compliance topics. He has more than 30 years of diversified health care management experience.

Mr. Bissey received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing form Shippensburg University and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Wilkes University.
