Julia Newton

Julia Newton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in governance and nonprofit leadership. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at The Rugby Football League, Julia also leads Women in Sport as Chair, focusing on ensuring equity in sports for women and girls in the UK. In addition, Julia chairs the Board of GB Taekwondo, overseeing the performance management of British athletes at major competitions. As a Senior Independent Non Executive Director for Capital Letters, Julia contributes to initiatives aimed at preventing homelessness in London. Julia co-founded the Rural Refugee Network, fostering support for refugees from war-torn countries, and has held various advisory and director roles in other organizations, including Waugh Thistleton Architects and Shine Communications. Julia holds a BSc (Hons) in Management Systems/Business Studies from City, University of London.
